About the position

The Retail Merchandiser is responsible for pricing and setting up customer stores within a designated territory, ensuring effective product placement and merchandising. This role involves driving between various locations, assisting in training new merchandisers, and maintaining inventory of merchandising supplies. The position offers growth opportunities within the food distribution system and emphasizes a safe and inclusive working environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the training of new fellow merchandisers on how to properly price and set customer shelving.
• Create customer store layouts upon request and arrange delivery to the store.
• Physically price and merchandise the product at the customer's store.
• Submit proper forms for employee reimbursement, such as travel, auto, gas, per diem, hotel, etc.
• Participate in company annual shows by setting up and tearing down the convenience store display at the show.
• Record unsalable merchandise when re-setting customer stores for credit purposes.
• Assist in delivering and unloading orders and returns when necessary.
• Maintain inventory of all merchandising supplies, such as mylar tags, peg hooks, price guns, labels, etc.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• 6 Months experience in merchandising or stocking
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
• Must have a valid driver's license and be able to drive a car for extended periods of time.

Nice-to-haves

• One-year experience in dealing with the public at the retail sales level preferred.
• 1 year merchandising experience
