About the position

The Retail Merchandising Associate (RMA) role at Altria Group Distribution Company involves executing merchandising strategies to enhance the in-store experience for consumers. The RMA will be responsible for implementing trade programs, managing point-of-sale materials, and ensuring effective inventory management while promoting a culture of engagement and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver superior execution of the merchandising elements of trade programs at retail.
  • Place Point of Sale (POS) materials in retail stores to support trade programs, product and promotional initiatives.
  • Reset in-store merchandising fixtures by following a plan-o-gram, including temporarily removing existing products and labeling for planned product.
  • Repair and replace damaged or broken shelf and signage components on existing in-store merchandising fixtures.
  • Manage inventory of POS materials to ensure necessary resources for merchandising execution.
  • Count on-hand product inventory in retail stores.
  • Ensure consistent and quality data collection.
  • Use systems and tools to improve overall decision making.
  • Execute plans by visiting more stores to improve efficiency and customer contacts.
  • Provide feedback on the development and execution of market plans.
  • Promote a culture of engagement, collaboration, and inclusion.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to follow specific instructions and complete a series of tasks with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Courteous and professional communication while interacting with co-workers and customers.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing directions and tasks.
  • Proficient at using a computer for planning, recording, and transmitting information, and communication through email and similar platforms.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
