About the position

The Retail Merchandising Department Manager at Michaels is responsible for leading and supporting inventory management and merchandising standards to ensure a well-stocked and visually appealing store. This role involves delivering excellent customer service, managing store operations, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. The manager will also play a key role in team development and performance management while maintaining a positive store environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support inventory management and merchandising standards.
• Plan for and provide a well merchandised and in-stock store for customers.
• Deliver friendly customer service and assist customers in finding products.
• Assist Store Manager in managing adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
• Manage and support truck processes and lead teams to meet standards.
• Manage, execute, and support the planogram process (POG's).
• Manage and execute shrink and safety programs.
• Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD).
• Maintain seasonal sets and feature space to visual merchandising standards.
• Assist with interviewing, onboarding, coaching, and training of new team members.
• Promote a positive image and serve as a role model for others.
• Assist with Omni channel processes and be cross-trained in Custom Framing.

Requirements

• Retail merchandising experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to remain standing for long periods of time.
• Ability to move throughout the store and perform regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching.

Nice-to-haves

• Special certifications in retail merchandising.
• Technical skills related to customer service.
