About the position

Retail Merchandising Services, Inc. (RMS) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Retail Merchandising Representative to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is perfect for individuals who love retail but desire the flexibility to set their own schedules. As a Merchandising Representative, you will be responsible for servicing retail stores within a 15-mile radius of your home, with varying hours each week. On average, you can expect to work between 4 to 9 hours weekly, with the workload fluctuating based on seasonal demands. In this position, you will be tasked with completing various merchandising projects, which may include stocking and organizing products on the sales floor, auditing product placements, applying stickers, conducting data collection, setting up displays, and maintaining planograms. You will also be required to report your completed projects through the RMS Web Portal or Mobile App, ensuring that all tasks are documented accurately. This role involves routine decision-making, such as determining when to escalate issues to the Home Office and managing your work schedule to meet deadlines. The ideal candidate will possess a basic understanding of retail and merchandising operations, have reliable transportation, and be comfortable using technology for reporting and communication. You will need to maintain professional relationships with store personnel and collaborate effectively with RMS team members. This position requires physical stamina, as you will be lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods. Responsibilities

  • Timely and accurately complete all assigned projects as directed.
  • Stock and organize products on the sales floor.
  • Audit to ensure product is placed in the correct spot on the sales floor.
  • Place stickers on product or sign product.
  • Conduct data collection.
  • Set up displays and maintain planograms.
  • Report all projects completed in-store through the RMS Web Portal or Mobile App.
  • Complete prep work prior to in-store assigned work, including printing instructions and ensuring supplies are received.
  • Make routine decisions regarding escalation of issues and scheduling work to meet deadlines.
  • Develop and maintain respectful, professional relationships with store personnel and RMS employees.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of retail and/or merchandising operations.
  • Ability to read and understand retail terms and procedures as written.
  • Reliable transportation to commute to retailers within a 15-mile radius.
  • Internet access with downloading and printing capabilities.
  • Regular access to a smart device with iOS or Android operating system.
  • Effective communication skills in-person, by phone, and through email.
  • Ability to plan and organize weekly assigned projects to meet scheduled due dates.
  • Self-manage workflow and create organized work plans.
