About the position

The Retail Operations Supervisor at Hudson Group is responsible for assisting the General Manager and Operational Managers in overseeing daily store operations and managing team members. This role emphasizes providing exceptional customer service and ensuring efficient store management, including staff training, cash handling, and inventory control.

Responsibilities

• Assist the General Manager and Operational Managers in managing team members and daily operations.
• Provide staff training and coaching on a daily basis.
• Conduct store opening, closing, and shift change procedures.
• Perform cash register preparation, float verifications, and end-of-shift cash reconciliations.
• Ensure daily counts on cigarettes, phone cards, newspapers, and other items are conducted and discrepancies reported.
• Ensure staff report to work on time and in uniform, including nametags.
• Report staff tardiness and absences to management.
• Ensure customers are greeted promptly and served by knowledgeable associates.
• Manage customer queuing effectively.
• Assign daily duties to sales associates and communicate sales targets and procedural changes.
• Maintain knowledge of products sold and ensure proper stock replenishment and rotation.
• Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained in the store.
• Maintain awareness of theft and shoplifting, enforcing policies to control internal shrink.

Requirements

• One or more years of experience as a supervisor in a retail setting.
• Experience working in a retail environment.
• Ability to manage and consult with General Manager, Operations Manager, and other Supervisors.
• Approachable and interactive leadership qualities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Good time-management and multi-tasking skills.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
