About the position

The Accounts Payable Specialist at Metropak, Inc. is a critical role within the finance team, responsible for managing the company's payables and supporting financial operations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, experienced, and capable of working independently with minimal oversight. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to thrive under pressure while collaborating effectively across departments.

Responsibilities

• Cut checks and send wire transfers for payments.
• Pay credit card balances via ACH and set up AP invoices for credit card expenses in SAP.
• Manage payments for FedEx, UPS, and DHL bills.
• Pay utility bills and set up monthly storage AP invoices from Monday.
• Convert goods receipt (GR) to AP invoices and calculate landed costs.
• Reconcile landed cost entries in the general ledger (GL).
• Post AP for outside representatives and credit card fees at month-end.
• Process credit card and expense reports, handling a high volume of invoicing.
• Reconcile vendor statements and manage rent entries, processing and tracking rebates.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude.
• Experience collaborating with sales teams and other departments.
• High level of independence and motivation, requiring minimal oversight.
• Ability to work under pressure and navigate power dynamics effectively.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Experience with SAP and Monday software.
• Familiarity with landed cost accounting and reconciliation.
• Accounting experience in the Retail manufacturing industry.
