About the position

The Personal Banker II position at Fifth Third Bank focuses on delivering exceptional customer service by building and maintaining long-lasting relationships with clients. The role involves understanding and addressing customers' financial needs through a consultative sales approach, ensuring compliance with bank policies, and managing risks effectively. The banker is responsible for providing tailored financial solutions and enhancing customer experiences while collaborating with internal partners.

Responsibilities

  • Create a memorable customer experience by cultivating, maintaining, and enhancing relationships in an assigned book of business through proactive outreach efforts.
  • Use a consultative approach with current or prospective customers to uncover and identify their needs while tailoring recommendations/solutions/advice.
  • Maintain working knowledge of products, services, and processes offered by the bank.
  • Work collaboratively with internal partners to ensure customer's needs are met and all problems are resolved.
  • Analyze customer credit data and other related financial information to ensure customers are in the appropriate solutions that align with their needs.
  • Provide customer support needed reinforcing the value of current and new technology.
  • Follow the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other related policies, modeling the ethical behavior expected from every employee within the Bancorp.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED and 1 year customer service experience, or college degree or equivalent military experience.
  • Experience in a sales environment required; experience in financial industry a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop comfort level with both new household acquisitions and deepening customer relationships.
  • Ability to professionally represent Fifth Third Bank in verbal and written communication.
  • Capable of analyzing credit and financial information.
  • Exhibits business acumen.
  • Demonstrated ability in making sound decisions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in cash handling (1 year preferred).
  • Experience in banking (1 year preferred).
  • Experience in customer service (1 year preferred).
