As a Retail Receiving Support Associate, also known as a Back of House Colleague, you will play a crucial role in managing the flow of merchandise into our stores. This position is essential for ensuring that products are received, processed, and made available for sale in a timely and efficient manner. You will be part of a dynamic team that is responsible for the upkeep of merchandise within the store and maintaining the stockroom. Your contributions will help create a positive shopping experience for our customers and support the overall operations of the store. In this role, you will be responsible for various tasks including receiving and unloading merchandise from delivery trucks, unpacking vendor boxes, and sorting and organizing items based on their type, size, or category. You will ensure that all merchandise is properly labeled and that the receiving area remains clean and organized. Additionally, you will complete all processing and receiving activities in accordance with productivity standards and compliance procedures. Your attention to detail will be vital in ensuring that promotional signage is accurate and up-to-date. You will also assist in stockroom management by transferring merchandise from the receiving area to the stockroom or sales floor, and you will collaborate with the Merchandise Team to facilitate the movement of fixtures and merchandise for new product placements and seasonal changes. Customer service is a key aspect of this position, as you will greet customers, answer their questions, and assist them in a friendly and professional manner. You will also be responsible for conducting customer pick-ups and ensuring that orders are delivered curbside in a timely manner. Responsibilities
- Greet customers and provide assistance in a friendly and professional manner.
- Receive and unload merchandise from delivery trucks and unpack vendor boxes.
- Sort and organize merchandise based on type, size, or category.
- Ensure items are properly labeled and the receiving area is clean and organized.
- Complete all processing and receiving activities in accordance with productivity standards and compliance procedures.
- Transfer merchandise from the receiving area to the stockroom or sales floor.
- Assist the Merchandise Team in the movement of fixtures and merchandise for new product placement and seasonal changes.
- Select merchandise from the selling floor and apply packing policies to ensure packages are in good condition.
- Conduct customer pick-up and deliver orders curbside to customers.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve department goals.
Requirements
- No experience needed; under 1 year of experience is acceptable.
- Ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and peers.
- Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Self-starter; able to adapt quickly to changing customer expectations and needs.
- Resourceful and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities and deadlines.
