About the position

The Retail Relationship Banker at BMO Financial is responsible for delivering exceptional service to customers and prospects, identifying their financial needs, and providing tailored advice and solutions. Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects.
  • Identify customer needs and provide advice on financial solutions.
  • Engage with existing customers and prospects to grow loyalty and identify opportunities.
  • Complete needs assessments to recommend tailored banking solutions.
  • Offer guidance on digital and self-serve banking options.
  • Support customer transaction needs based on traffic.
  • Generate appointments and build new relationships within the community.
  • Address questions and resolve issues related to consumer credit audits.
  • Apply risk management frameworks to protect the Bank's assets.
  • Make credit recommendations for personal lending transactions.
  • Act as a key member of a collaborative branch team.
  • Integrate marketing promotions into customer conversations.
  • Organize work information for accuracy and completeness.
  • Find creative approaches to enhance customer experience.
  • Contribute to business results and overall branch experience.
  • Work at multiple branches as needed, with varying schedules.
  • Follow risk and compliance processes to safeguard customer assets.
  • Maintain knowledge of personal banking products and trends.
  • Identify and report suspicious activity related to money laundering.
  • Comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Typically 2 - 3 years of relevant experience in financial services.
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field is desirable.
  • Appropriate lending qualifications and designations.
  • Working knowledge of personal and small business customer needs.
  • Experience in a consultative customer service or sales role.
  • Confident in using social media and online tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with customers.
  • Aptitude for listening, problem-solving, and responding creatively.
