About the position

The Retail Relationship Banker at BMO is responsible for delivering exceptional service to customers and prospects, identifying their financial needs, and providing tailored financial solutions. This role involves engaging with customers to enhance loyalty, recommending banking products, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. The banker will also act as an originator of consumer loans and work collaboratively within the branch to achieve business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects.
• Identify customer needs and provide advice on financial solutions.
• Engage with existing customers and prospects to grow loyalty and identify opportunities.
• Complete needs assessments to recommend tailored banking solutions.
• Support customer transactions based on traffic and needs.
• Generate appointments and build new relationships within the community.
• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in lending processes.
• Make credit recommendations for personal lending transactions.
• Collaborate with branch and market teams to enhance customer experience.
• Maintain current knowledge of personal banking products and trends.

Requirements

• Typically 2 - 3 years of relevant experience in financial services.
• Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Working knowledge of personal and small business customer needs and solutions.
• Experience in a consultative customer service or sales role.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with customers.
• Aptitude for listening, problem-solving, and responding creatively to challenges.
