House of Sport by DICK'S Sporting Goods is more than just a store; it is a destination and an experience where athletes can experiment and play. This role of the run ambassador is a technically focused position that centers around providing a differentiated athlete experience specifically tailored to runners. The run ambassador will leverage personal experiences and industry research to offer strong product recommendations to athletes, ensuring that each athlete receives personalized attention and guidance. In this role, the ambassador will conduct assessments of an athlete's foot movements, such as gait analysis, to recommend appropriate running products that align with the athlete's needs and preferences. This involves translating product technology into practical advice that contributes to the athlete's overall running experience. The ambassador will also ensure that product recommendations are beneficial and aligned with the athlete's running goals, pulling from personal experiences to suggest best practices for runners, including warm-up and cool-down techniques, running improvement plans, and stretches. The run ambassador will fully outfit athletes with the appropriate footwear and workout accessories, creating a tailored consultative experience that provides unparalleled customer service. This includes adapting their sales style to meet the unique needs of each athlete. Additionally, the ambassador will partner with store teammates to share general running concepts and utilize training materials to educate others on new product releases and technology. Maintaining merchandise presentation standards and adhering to established policies related to safety and loss prevention are also key responsibilities. The ambassador will take an all-hands-on-deck approach to support the team across the store and perform other tasks as assigned by management.

Responsibilities

• Provide a differentiated athlete experience specifically to runners.
• Conduct assessments of an athlete's foot movements (Gait Analysis) and recommend appropriate running products.
• Translate product technology to align with the athlete's needs and preferences.
• Ensure product recommendations benefit the athlete's running goals.
• Recommend runner best practices and suggestions, including warm-up and cool-down techniques, running improvement plans, and stretches.
• Fully outfit athletes with appropriate footwear and workout accessories from head to toe.
• Create a tailored consultative experience to provide unparalleled customer service.
• Partner with store teammates to share running concepts and educate others on new product releases and technology.
• Maintain merchandise presentation standards and signage of the Footwear Department to Company standards.
• Adhere to established policies and procedures related to safety, loss prevention, and standard operating procedures.
• Support the team across the store and perform other tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of retail or footwear experience preferred, but not required.
• Ability to conduct gait analysis and provide product recommendations based on athlete assessments.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to create a tailored consultative experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in running or knowledge of running products and best practices.
• Familiarity with current industry trends in footwear and running gear.
