About the position

The Retail Sales and Customer Service Associate is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and promoting products and services to meet customer needs. This role involves engaging with customers, processing sales transactions, and maintaining the store's appearance. The associate will work in a fast-paced retail environment, ensuring customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in a friendly manner and determine their needs.
• Deliver exceptional customer service through engagement and quality product delivery.
• Be knowledgeable about products and services offered.
• Identify customer needs and offer additional services that could benefit them.
• Record and process all sales transactions accurately in the Point of Sale system.
• Pack contents for shipping using established procedures and products.
• Receive, sort, and place mail in mailboxes accurately, including opening, renewing, and closing mailboxes as needed.
• Assist in merchandising the store, including stocking shelves and ensuring a clean and orderly appearance of products.
• Perform end-of-day duties, including reconciliation of cash and all transactions accurately according to company policy.
• Operate printers, copiers, fax machines, and other office equipment safely and efficiently.
• Help customers operate office machines located in the retail area.
• Perform general housekeeping duties and other assigned tasks.

Requirements

• 6 months to 2 years of customer service and sales experience in a retail environment.
• Point of Sale (POS) and computer experience highly desirable.
• Ability to use tact and diplomacy to maintain harmonious relationships with customers in person and over the phone.
• Basic math skills for processing transactions and handling cash.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload.
• Bilingual in Spanish or other languages is a plus.
• Experience working at a UPS store is desirable.
