About the position

The Retail Sales Associate at Carpet One Floor & Home is responsible for guiding customers through their home improvement journey, from initial inquiry to installation. This role emphasizes customer service, product knowledge, and the ability to build trust with clients. Sales Associates are expected to maintain a clean showroom, provide design advice, and manage sales processes effectively while promoting the store through personal networks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and neat showroom
• Provide outstanding customer service
• Handle sales from start to finish
• Sell flooring, window coverings, and floor care products
• Answer customer questions
• Help customers with decorating and/or design advice
• Prospect for new business
• Manage time in the showroom, in the customer's home, and prospecting for new clients
• Undergo extensive product and sales training to become a certified flooring and design expert
• Keep up-to-date on the wide selection of floors offered along with the benefits and warranties provided by each

Requirements

• Retail sales experience is a plus
• Passion and/or experience in decorating or designing
• Self-starter
• Personally well-organized
• Flexible work hours to include weekends
• Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation for in-home visits
