About the position

The Fragrance Assistant at Macy's is responsible for providing exceptional customer service by selling and demonstrating fragrances and related items. This role contributes to the department's success by achieving personal sales goals and ensuring a memorable shopping experience for customers. The position involves various responsibilities, including inventory management and compliance with hygiene standards, while also offering opportunities for career growth within the retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional services to customers by selling and demonstrating fragrances and related items.
• Achieve personal sales goals and contribute to the success of the department.
• Be proficient in POS and MPOS systems including Search and Send, My Client, and More@ Macy's tablet app.
• Assist customers using devices to shop and compare.
• Explain and demonstrate the use of cosmetics through actual application.
• Attend product training classes and seminars and participate in pre-selling drives.
• Ensure proper presentation, organization, storing, and replenishment of stock.
• Process new receipts, damages, testers, and returns to vendors (RTVs) in a timely manner.
• Maintain a safe work area and adhere to Asset Protection and inventory control procedures.
• Comply with all hygiene standards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years related experience in retail or customer service.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of customers and peers.
• Resourceful self-starter who works well independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and work a flexible schedule.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the beauty or fragrance industry.
• Familiarity with retail sales techniques and customer service best practices.
