About the position

The Retail Sales Associate (Seasonal) at New Balance is responsible for ensuring smooth operations in retail stores while providing exemplary customer service. This role involves utilizing expert product knowledge and proper selling techniques to assist customers throughout their shopping experience, positively representing the New Balance brand.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service using proper selling techniques and product knowledge.
• Utilize the GUEST service model to engage with customers.
• Educate customers on product features and benefits.
• Solve customer problems and answer questions.
• Transact sales through suggestive selling and effective closing techniques.
• Correctly measure and fit customers with appropriate New Balance products.
• Inform customers about current promotions.
• Maintain a neat, organized, and well-stocked sales floor.
• Ensure items are labeled and priced correctly.
• Protect products by monitoring floor merchandise and reporting security violations.
• Follow safety regulations and report accidents or near misses.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Strong customer service and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Familiarity with cash register functions.
• Ability to perform basic math quickly.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to lift 4 lbs. frequently and a maximum of 8 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to kneel or squat frequently and move boxes of product up to 50 lbs. with assistance if necessary.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and climb ladders occasionally.
