About the position

The Retail Sales Associate at TJ Maxx is responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience by engaging with customers, maintaining store standards, and supporting various operational tasks. This role requires flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic retail environment, ensuring that customers receive the best service while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with all customers.
• Adhere to operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards.
• Cross-train to work in multiple areas of the store as needed.
• Model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
• Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Accurately ring customer purchases/returns and handle cash according to established procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs to customers.
• Maintain and uphold merchandising philosophy and follow established procedures and standards.
• Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company standards.
• Participate in store recovery throughout the day to maintain cleanliness and organization.
• Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
• Adhere to all labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Support store shrink reduction goals and programs.
• Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to support business needs.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Capable of multi-tasking and responding to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
• Ability to lift heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Effective collaboration with peers and supervisors.
• Retail customer experience preferred.
