About the position

As a Retail Sales Associate at Macy's, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer experiences and driving sales. Your primary focus will be on understanding customer needs, providing product recommendations, and ensuring a welcoming shopping environment. You will work collaboratively with your team to meet sales goals while maintaining high standards of merchandise presentation and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Greet and connect with customers in a friendly and genuine way.
• Recommend products by asking questions to identify customer needs and inspiring purchases.
• Offer options and solutions to customers to complete the sale.
• Wrap up the moment to close out the customer's shopping journey, celebrating their purchases.
• Master store products, services, loyalty programs, and Macy's sales systems to assist customers.
• Maintain department recovery standards, including selling floor and fitting rooms.
• Deliver optimal merchandise execution presentation, ensure accurate merchandise pricing, and process markdowns.

Requirements

• Good understanding of the products being sold and ability to provide expert guidance to customers.
• Comfortable communicating with customers virtually, via phone, and in person.
• Ability to build relationships with customers and achieve sales goals.
• Utilize point of sale technology and applications for selling and fulfilling customer orders.
• Self-driven to keep up with product knowledge and trends through Macy's educational resources.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with colleagues at all levels.
• Partnership with the total team to drive sales and deliver customer experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in retail sales or customer service is a plus but not required.
