About the position

The Retail Sales Associate at TJ Maxx is responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience by engaging with customers, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and adhering to operational standards. This role involves supporting the store's culture of honesty and respect while promoting merchandise and store programs. Associates may be cross-trained in various store areas to meet business needs and are expected to contribute positively to the store's overall performance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with all customers.
• Adhere to operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards.
• Cross-train to work in multiple areas of the store as needed.
• Accurately ring customer purchases and returns, counting change back according to procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs to customers.
• Maintain and uphold merchandising philosophy and follow established procedures and standards.
• Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor following company standards.
• Participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
• Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the sales floor.
• Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
• Adhere to all labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Support store shrink reduction goals and programs.
• Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to support business needs.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Capable of multi-tasking and responding to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
• Ability to lift heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Effective collaboration with peers and supervisors.
• Retail customer experience preferred.
