About the position

The position at Talbots focuses on providing exceptional customer service while promoting the brand and building relationships with customers. Associates are expected to demonstrate selling competence and styling expertise, contributing to the store's business growth and achieving sales metrics. The role emphasizes teamwork, creativity, and a commitment to customer satisfaction in a dynamic retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide an exceptional and meaningful customer service experience that promotes the product and builds brand relationships.
• Assist the management team in building store business.
• Support all service enhancers to build strong relationships, including active use of Concierge.
• Service multiple customers at a time, multi-task, and handle projects simultaneously.
• Stay aware of fashion trends and seek information about new arrivals, including product knowledge about fit, color, and fashion.
• Use product knowledge and fashion expertise to create outfits for customers and suggest items to match their needs.
• Maximize individual performance by participating in learning opportunities and accepting direction, coaching, and feedback.
• Achieve sales and service metrics in key measurable areas including clientelling/outreach, appointment setting, and Talbots Classic Awards.
• Complete projects as assigned, including operational assignments such as filling orders, replenishment, and recovery.

Requirements

• Demonstrate selling competence and styling expertise.
• Possess a strong ambition and passion for achieving goals, both individually and as part of a team.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and a high level of integrity.
• Technological competency to navigate a computer/iPad/handheld system.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a diverse work environment.
• Comfortable climbing ladders, moving around regularly, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Able to bend, reach, stretch for product, and lift, carry, and move at least 40 lbs.
• Flexible schedule availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
