About the position

The Retail Sales Associate at Talbots is a part-time position focused on providing exceptional customer service and promoting the brand's products. The role involves building relationships with customers, assisting in store operations, and achieving sales metrics while working in a dynamic retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide an exceptional and meaningful customer service experience that promotes the product and builds brand relationships.
• Assist the management team in building store business.
• Support all service enhancers to build strong relationships, including active use of Concierge.
• Service multiple customers at a time, multi-task, and handle projects simultaneously.
• Stay informed about fashion trends and new arrivals, including product knowledge about fit, color, and fashion.
• Use product knowledge and fashion expertise to create outfits for customers and suggest items to match their needs.
• Maximize individual performance by participating in learning opportunities and accepting coaching and feedback.
• Achieve sales and service metrics in key measurable areas including clientelling/outreach and appointment setting.
• Complete operational assignments such as filling orders, replenishment, and recovery.

Requirements

• Demonstrate selling competence and styling expertise.
• Possess strong ambition and passion for achieving goals.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and a high level of integrity.
• Technological competency to navigate a computer/iPad/handheld system.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a diverse work environment.
• Comfortable climbing ladders, moving around regularly, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Able to bend, reach, stretch for product, and lift, carry, and move at least 40 lbs.
• Open availability of 15 to 20 hours per week.
