About the position

The Retail Sales Associate at DICK'S Sporting Goods is responsible for creating an exceptional shopping experience for customers, particularly in the golf department. This role involves engaging with customers, understanding their needs, and providing knowledgeable assistance to help them improve their game. The associate will uphold merchandising standards, promote company programs, and contribute to a welcoming and inclusive store environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and proactively approach them to understand their needs.
• Support customers in their shopping experience with in-depth product knowledge.
• Uphold company merchandising and presentation standards by following established guidelines.
• Promote company programs such as customer loyalty and warranty sales.
• Adhere to safety, loss prevention, and standard operating procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality of all company information.
• Create an inclusive store environment where everyone feels welcome and respected.
• Support the team across the store with an all-hands-on-deck approach.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Prior retail experience preferred.
• Golf industry experience preferred.
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull and lift items weighing 15 to 35 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to work extended periods of time standing or walking (up to 4 hours).
• Ability to perform repetitive motions for short periods of time (up to 2 hours continuously).
