About the position

The Retail Sales Associate position at the Candles kiosk in Temecula Promenade mall is a part-time, temporary role focused on providing exceptional customer service during the holiday season. The ideal candidate will engage with customers, handle transactions, and support inventory management while maintaining a positive shopping experience.

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers to provide outstanding service and support their shopping needs.
• Utilize basic math skills to handle transactions accurately at the POS (Point of Sale) system.
• Upsell products by effectively communicating their benefits and features to customers.
• Maintain knowledge of store products and promotions to assist customers effectively.
• Support inventory management by restocking shelves and organizing merchandise displays.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and high levels of customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• Previous experience in retail or grocery store environments is preferred.
• Basic math skills are essential for handling transactions and inventory management.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively.
• Familiarity with retail math concepts is a plus for managing sales and inventory accurately.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including morning (starting at 9AM) and one weekend (December 7 & 8) as required during peak seasons.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with cash registers and POS systems is a plus.
• Ability to demonstrate product knowledge and conduct effective product demos.
