As a Retail Sales Associate at Talbots, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service and promoting our brand. In this position, you will be responsible for providing a meaningful customer service experience that promotes our products and builds brand loyalty. You will assist the management team in driving store business and support various service enhancers to strengthen customer relationships. Your ability to multitask and manage multiple customers simultaneously will be essential in this fast-paced retail environment. You will stay informed about fashion trends and new arrivals, using your product knowledge to create outfits and suggest complementary items to customers. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to maximize your performance through participation in learning opportunities and by accepting coaching and feedback. Achieving sales and service metrics will be a key focus, as will completing operational tasks such as order filling and inventory replenishment. This position is designed to be flexible, requiring you to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, with an expected availability of 15 to 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Provide an exceptional and meaningful customer service experience that promotes the product and builds brand relationships.
  • Take an active role in assisting the management team to build store business.
  • Support all service enhancers to build strong relationships including active use of Concierge.
  • Service multiple customers at a time, multi-task and/or handle projects simultaneously.
  • Be aware of fashion trends and seek information about all new arrivals, including product knowledge about fit, color, fashion etc.
  • Use product knowledge and fashion expertise to create outfits for customers and suggest items to match their needs.
  • Maximize individual performance by participating in learning opportunities, accepting direction, coaching and feedback.
  • Achieve sales and service metrics in key measurable areas including: clientelling/outreach, appointment setting and Talbots Classic Awards.
  • Complete projects as assigned including operational assignments: filling orders, replenishment, recovery etc.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate selling competence and styling expertise with a love of fashion.
  • Driven to create, build and cultivate relationships with customers.
  • Possess strong ambition and passion for achieving goals, both individually and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal communication skills and a high level of integrity.
  • Possess the technological competency to navigate a computer/iPad/handheld system.
  • Have strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to work cooperatively in a diverse work environment.
  • Comfortable climbing ladders, moving around regularly, and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Able to bend, reach, stretch for product as well as lift, carry, and move at least 40 lbs.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
