About the position

The Retail Sales Associate at JR Furniture is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers. This role involves engaging with customers, assisting them in making informed purchasing decisions, and fostering long-term relationships. The associate will also contribute to the company's sales growth through effective selling techniques and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Maximize company sales growth and profitability through creative selling skills and customer service.
• Actively listen to and engage customers using appropriate selling skills to match their needs.
• Motivate self to stay accountable to individual sales and service goals as determined by store management.
• Keep customers informed about orders and any status changes, updating notes on customer sales.
• Maintain strong relationships with existing customers and prospect for new customers.
• Develop and apply product expertise by staying informed about marketplace and industry trends.
• Maintain knowledge of all product information, intranet communications, and current advertising and marketing initiatives.
• Maintain sales floor coverage and follow posted schedules regarding area assignments.
• Support and model excellent service by exhibiting a positive attitude and enthusiasm toward the job and company.
• Communicate customer feedback to the store management team regarding policies and product requests.
• Actively participate in store meetings and training sessions.
• Engage in self-development and growth through available company resources.

Requirements

• Passion for JR Furniture's brand and values.
• Exceptional customer service skills and a genuine love of interacting with people.
• Retail service experience essential with 2+ years in Retail and/or Furniture (furniture experience is a bonus).
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and PSO systems.
• Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
