About the position
The Retail Sales Associate plays a crucial role in delivering an outstanding shopping experience by assisting customers, maintaining the sales floor, and promoting products effectively. This position requires a customer-focused individual who can engage with shoppers and ensure a well-organized retail environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers by obtaining or receiving merchandise, totaling bills, accepting payments, and making change accurately.
- Stock shelves, counters, and tables with merchandise while ensuring proper display arrangements and coloration of items.
- Monitor and remove outdated merchandise from the sales floor in accordance with established procedures; prepare such items for salvage or disposal.
- Create attractive advertising displays and arrange merchandise to promote sales and enhance customer engagement.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 1-3 months of related experience and/or training in a retail or customer service environment.
- Basic math skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide with two-digit numbers and work effectively with tens and hundreds.
- Pleasant and approachable personality with strong interpersonal skills to meet and greet customers warmly.
