About the position

The Retail Sales Department Manager at Boscov's Department Store is responsible for leading a team of associates in a fast-paced retail environment. This role focuses on ensuring excellent customer service and maximizing sales through effective merchandising and team management. The manager will leverage their retail experience to train and develop staff while maintaining high standards of customer engagement and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and participate in the merchandising/set up of the selling floor to maximize sales and customer service.
• Manage the activities of the sales and stock functions.
• Train, coach, and develop associates by leading by example.
• Provide in-depth product knowledge and all other components of customer service.
• Accurately and efficiently complete all transactions and paperwork while adhering to company policies and procedures.
• Maintain awareness of advertised merchandise and ensure all ads are set and signed properly.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Prior retail sales management experience.
• Strong selling and/or customer service experience preferred.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to learn computer systems, POS register, telxon, and interpret reports.
• Available to work varied days and hours as work schedule requires, including evenings and weekends.
