About the position

The Retail Sales Lead for Footwear at DICK'S Sporting Goods plays a crucial role in executing brand standards and enhancing the teammate experience. This position involves leading by example, providing exceptional customer service, and guiding teammates in their roles. The Lead is responsible for building a strong team culture, ensuring effective operations, and maintaining merchandising standards while fostering an inclusive environment for both teammates and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service and support the store's vision.
  • Lead by example and provide direction to teammates.
  • Assist in building and hiring a strong team through in-store interviews and tours.
  • Plan and organize store operations 30 days in advance with the Assistant Store Manager.
  • Ensure brand standards are met and tasks are prioritized effectively.
  • Uphold merchandising and presentation standards in the store.
  • Assist with training and onboarding new teammates.
  • Coach and develop teammates on company procedures and programs.
  • Create an inclusive environment for all teammates and customers.
  • Adhere to safety and loss prevention policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Prior retail sales or customer-focused experience preferred.
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift items weighing 15 to 35 lbs. repetitively.
  • Ability to work extended periods standing or walking (up to 4 hours).
  • Ability to work at heights greater than 4 feet using ladders or aerial devices.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions for short periods (up to 2 hours continuously).
