About the position
The Lead at DICK'S Sporting Goods plays a crucial role in executing brand standards and enhancing the teammate experience. The Lead is responsible for fostering a people-first culture, ensuring effective team building, and maintaining company merchandising standards. They also assist in training and developing teammates, creating an inclusive environment, and upholding safety and operational procedures.
Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service and support to teammates.
- Lead by example and foster a people-first culture.
- Plan and organize store operations 30 days in advance with the Assistant Store Manager.
- Ensure brand standards are met and tasks are prioritized effectively.
- Assist in training new and current teammates on company procedures.
- Create an inclusive environment for teammates and customers.
- Uphold company merchandising and presentation standards.
- Support the store leadership team with general supervision and management tasks.
- Maintain confidentiality of all company information.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Prior retail sales or customer-focused experience preferred.
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift items weighing 15 to 35 lbs repetitively.
- Ability to work extended periods standing or walking (up to 4 hours).
- Ability to work at heights greater than 4 feet using ladders or aerial devices.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions for short periods (up to 2 hours continuously).
