About the position

The Lead at DICK'S Sporting Goods plays a crucial role in executing brand standards and enhancing the teammate experience. This position focuses on delivering exceptional customer service while providing direction and support to teammates. The Lead is responsible for building a strong team culture, planning and organizing store operations, and ensuring compliance with merchandising standards. They also play a key role in training and developing team members, fostering an inclusive environment, and upholding company policies.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service and support to teammates.
• Lead by example and foster a people-first culture in the store.
• Plan and organize store operations 30 days in advance with the Assistant Store Manager.
• Ensure compliance with merchandising and presentation standards.
• Assist in training and onboarding new teammates and cross-training current teammates.
• Coach and develop team members on company procedures and programs.
• Create an inclusive environment for teammates and customers.
• Adhere to safety and loss prevention policies and procedures.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Prior retail sales or customer-focused experience preferred.
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift items weighing 15 to 35 lbs repetitively.
• Ability to work extended periods standing or walking (up to 4 hours).
• Ability to work at heights greater than 4 feet using ladders or aerial lifting devices.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions for short periods (up to 2 hours continuously).
