About the position

The Retail Sales Lead for Footwear at DICK'S Sporting Goods plays a crucial role in executing brand standards and enhancing the teammate experience. This position involves leading by example, providing exceptional customer service, and guiding teammates in their roles. The Lead is responsible for building a strong team culture, ensuring compliance with merchandising standards, and supporting store leadership in daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service and support teammates in providing the best service to customers.
• Assist in building and hiring a strong team by participating in in-store interviews and department tours.
• Foster a people-first culture by connecting with every teammate to build trust and respect.
• Plan and organize store operations 30 days in advance with the guidance of the Assistant Store Manager.
• Ensure brand standards are met and tasks are prioritized and delegated effectively.
• Uphold company merchandising and presentation standards, including floor sets and inventory presentation.
• Assist store leadership with general supervision and adherence to company policies.
• Train teammates on company procedures, including onboarding and cross-training.
• Provide hands-on coaching and develop teammates by explaining the rationale behind tasks and processes.
• Create an inclusive environment where all teammates and customers feel welcome and respected.
• Adhere to safety and loss prevention policies and maintain confidentiality of company information.
• Support the team across the store by taking an all-hands-on-deck approach.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Prior retail sales or customer-focused experience preferred.
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift items weighing 15 to 35 lbs repetitively.
• Ability to work extended periods standing or walking (up to 4 hours).
• Ability to work at heights greater than 4 feet using ladders or aerial lifting devices.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions for short periods (up to 2 hours continuously).
