About the position
The Lead at DICK'S Sporting Goods plays a crucial role in executing brand standards and enhancing the teammate experience. This position focuses on delivering exceptional customer service while providing direction and support to teammates. The Lead is responsible for fostering a people-first culture, ensuring effective team building, and maintaining company merchandising standards. They also assist in training and developing teammates, creating an inclusive environment, and supporting store operations in alignment with company policies.
Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service and support to teammates.
- Lead by example and foster a people-first culture in the store.
- Assist in building and hiring a strong team through in-store interviews and tours.
- Plan and organize store operations 30 days in advance with the Assistant Store Manager.
- Ensure brand standards are met and tasks are prioritized and delegated effectively.
- Uphold company merchandising and presentation standards, including floor sets and inventory management.
- Assist with training new and current teammates on company procedures and programs.
- Coach and develop teammates, explaining the rationale behind tasks and processes.
- Create an inclusive environment where all teammates and customers feel welcome and respected.
- Adhere to safety and loss prevention policies and maintain confidentiality of company information.
Requirements
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Prior retail sales or customer-focused experience preferred.
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift items weighing 15 to 35 lbs. repetitively.
- Ability to work extended periods standing or walking (up to 4 hours).
- Ability to work at heights greater than 4 feet using ladders or aerial lifting devices.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions for short periods (up to 2 hours continuously).
