About the position

The Hunting Group Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing the Hunting/Firearms Departments within the store, ensuring compliance with laws and company policies, managing merchandise presentation, inventory control, and enhancing sales. This role emphasizes customer service and involves training and developing staff to provide a world-class shopping experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise compliance with ATF, state, and local laws in the Hunting/Firearms department.
• Lead safe handling and customer experience standards within the firearms department.
• Ensure a pleasant shopping experience for all customers.
• Meet or exceed financial plans set by the company.
• Execute sales plans as directed by the company.
• Open and close the store, acting as the 'Manager on Duty'.
• Maintain planograms as set by the Corporate Office.
• Staff departments with service-oriented associates and participate in hiring and training.
• Resolve customer and Outfitter issues.
• Conduct performance appraisals and recommend promotions or merit increases.
• Provide legendary customer service by assisting customers in making buying decisions.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3-5 years in Retail Management.
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and percentages.
• Ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret financial, legal, and technical information.
• Proficiency with PC-based word processing and inventory management systems.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain effective working relationships.
