About the position

The Retail Sales Manager In Training position at Red Mountain Retail dba ASHLEY is designed for an experienced team leader who will assist in managing store operations and lead the sales team to achieve sales goals. This role involves training and developing commissioned sales staff, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, and stepping in as Manager on Duty when the Store Manager is absent. The position requires strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills to effectively manage daily operations and support the team.

Responsibilities

  • Functions as Manager on Duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Leads store training and skill development of commissioned sales people.
  • Cascade new policy and procedures to relevant team members.
  • Meet sales goals by training, motivating, mentoring and providing feedback to sales staff.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service.
  • Assists with handling issues that arise from staff or customers (complaints, grievances etc).
  • Responsible for providing support and fulfilling weekly and monthly tasks in lieu of store vacancies, ensuring smooth operations during staffing transitions.
  • Additional store duties as needed.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of Retail Management Experience
  • Ability to take initiative and be self-directed
  • Strong communication and effective leadership skills
  • Very organized and detail-oriented
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with financing
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Nice-to-haves

  • Furniture experience preferred, but not required
  • Desire to grow in management
