About the position
The Retail Sales Staff-Member Shop position at Pinehurst is a part-time role focused on providing exceptional customer service in the PCC Member Shop. The primary responsibilities include assisting customers with merchandise selection, maintaining a clean and organized shop environment, and supporting the Retail Supervisor in daily operations. This role requires flexibility in scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet customer needs and uphold the company's commitment to genuine hospitality.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests within 30 seconds of entering the shop and establish a connection.
- Ask open-ended questions to determine customer needs and present options.
- Suggest complementary items to build sales.
- Assist with special orders if items are not available in the shop.
- Maintain exemplary customer service standards.
- Communicate with the Retail Supervisor and Manager about new products and member suggestions.
- Work independently in a busy environment with high customer service expectations.
- Handle inquiries regarding product availability and vendors confidently.
- Be proficient in using the POS system.
- Execute opening and closing procedures for the shop.
- Participate in member events and trunk shows outside the shop.
- Maintain merchandising standards and a clean shop environment.
- Participate in period-end inventories and department training.
- Complete other assigned duties.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 1 year of similar experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in using POS systems.
