About the position

The Retail Sales Support position at Optimum involves acting as a brand ambassador and providing exceptional customer service in a retail environment. The role focuses on creating a welcoming atmosphere for customers, assisting them with their store journey, and maintaining store standards. The position requires a strong understanding of technology and the company's products, as well as the ability to support both sales and customer service transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Provides strong understanding and enthusiasm for technology, especially company products and services, and supports the store team in the front and back of the store.
  • Constantly scans the sales floor to ensure counters, devices, accessories, and walkways are accessible, clean, and functioning, reporting exceptions to leadership.
  • Greets customers during peak times, identifying sales opportunities and connecting customers to sales consultants in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrates company technology to new customers to ensure they know the basics of Optimum services.
  • Performs non-sales customer service transactions including equipment returns, swaps, and order fulfillment for 'buy-online-pick-up' in-store.
  • Serves as an in-store expert for Mobile support, providing post-sales support for device data transfers and phone number ports.
  • Supports the onboarding of Mobile customers, assisting with online account setup, data transfer, and account setup errors.
  • Assists Store Leadership in inventory and merchandising responsibilities, checking and inspecting the back of the store for clean and secure inventory.
  • Conducts the weekly cycle count process and looks for opportunities to improve the store count process.
  • Suggests improvements to current processes and procedures that enhance the customer and/or store experience.
  • Adjusts and adapts to store management priorities and direction, demonstrating professionalism and integrity.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum one year of work experience.
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must be able to carry and lift up to 25-pound boxes and remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to move in different positions in a retail setting, including tight and confined spaces.
  • Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder to access products/boxes.
