About the position
The Retail Seasonal Cashier position at Michaels involves delivering friendly customer service, assisting customers in finding products, and ensuring a fast and efficient checkout experience. The role includes responsibilities such as merchandise recovery, cash handling, and participation in store operations to maintain a well-stocked and organized environment. This part-time, seasonal role requires flexibility to work weekends and may involve physical tasks such as lifting and moving merchandise.
Responsibilities
- Deliver friendly customer service and assist customers in shopping the store.
- Ensure all customers receive a fast and friendly checkout experience.
- Complete truck unloading and merchandise duties throughout the store.
- Help customers locate products and provide solutions.
- Engage customers on the benefits of the Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards.
- Educate customers on the Voice of Customer (VOC) survey.
- Assist with Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS).
- Participate in the truck unload, stocking, and planogram (POGs) processes.
- Complete merchandise recovery and maintenance including the merchandise return/go back process.
- Perform Store In Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD set duties as assigned.
- Support shrink and safety programs.
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements.
- Interact with others in an accepting and respectful manner and promote commitment to the organization's vision and values.
- Cross trained in Custom Framing selling and production.
Requirements
- Retail and/or customer service experience preferred.
- Ability to remain standing for long periods of time.
- Ability to move throughout the store.
