About the position

As a Service Technician at Salon Lofts, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of our salons and Loft Owners' spaces. This position requires a hands-on approach to a variety of maintenance tasks, ensuring that our facilities are in top condition and that our Loft Owners receive the best possible support. You will be responsible for conducting routine inspections, performing preventative maintenance, and addressing any repair needs that arise. Your work will directly impact the quality of service we provide to beauty professionals and entrepreneurs who rely on our spaces to succeed. Your daily responsibilities will include conducting regular inspections of buildings and facilities, performing preventative maintenance tasks such as testing lights and updating records, and repairing or replacing faulty components and equipment. You will also be tasked with troubleshooting and repairing minor plumbing issues, diagnosing and fixing electrical problems, and performing carpentry and painting tasks as needed. Additionally, you will monitor and maintain HVAC systems, ensuring that heating, cooling, and exhaust systems are functioning properly. In this role, you will be expected to maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, document repairs and inspections, and report any major issues or safety concerns to the Regional Facilities Manager. Customer service is a key component of this position, as you will interact daily with our Loft Owners and field teams, providing support and ensuring their needs are met. This position requires a strong commitment to excellence and a proactive approach to maintenance and repair tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections of buildings and facilities.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as testing lights and updating records.
  • Repair and replace faulty components and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair minor plumbing issues such as leaks and clogs.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot hot water systems.
  • Diagnose and fix minor electrical problems and replace damaged electrical components.
  • Repair or replace damaged doors, locks, cabinets, chairs, and salon equipment.
  • Perform minor interior and exterior painting touch-ups and minor drywall repair.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot heating, cooling, and exhaust systems.
  • Perform routine HVAC and controls inspections.
  • Ensure that outdoor areas are clean and safe for use.
  • Ensure that all salons are easily accessible.
  • Document monthly preventative maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain timely and accurate repair history via our computerized maintenance system.
  • Report any major issues or safety concerns to the Regional Facilities Manager.
  • Provide dedicated support to Loft Owners and interact with them daily.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a maintenance technician or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of general maintenance procedures and techniques.
  • Proficiency in using maintenance tools and equipment.
  • Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
