About the position
The Retail Shift Leader I position at Palmetto Goodwill involves assisting the Retail Store Manager and Retail Assistant Store Manager in the daily operations and management of a retail center. This role includes leading the retail team, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining a positive work environment. The Shift Leader is responsible for training team members, managing store activities, and upholding the organization's values of integrity, collaboration, respect, and excellence.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Retail Store Manager and Retail Assistant Store Manager in store operations.
- Lead retail team and store activities in the absence of management.
- Train team members and provide coaching as needed.
- Sort, price, and stock donations according to established expectations.
- Utilize point-of-sale system for merchandise sales.
- Maintain a clean work environment and exceed production goals.
- Ensure compliance with agency policies and safety standards.
- Perform administrative duties including opening/closing tasks and bank deposits.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED and one year of retail experience or equivalent education and experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds as required.
Nice-to-haves
- Forklift and walk-behind stacker certification.
- First-aid/CPR certification.
