About the position

The Retail Store Cleaning Associate at TJ Maxx is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized store environment, focusing on floor care and cleanliness standards. This part-time role involves operating cleaning equipment, adhering to safety and operational standards, and supporting various store functions to enhance the customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and organized store environment with a focus on floor care.
• Operate the scrubber and buffer for floor maintenance.
• Perform dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot cleaning glass and windows.
• Adhere to all operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards.
• Cross-train to work in multiple areas of the store to support business needs.
• Model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
• Support and embody a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Maintain all cleanliness standards for the entire store, including the sales floor, associate lounge, backroom, and restrooms.
• Adhere to all company policies concerning health and safety.
• Participate in store recovery as needed throughout the day.
• Communicate accurately and effectively with management and associates.

• Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and operate cleaning equipment.
• Capable of multi-tasking and responding to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
