About the position

The Retail Store Cleaning Associate at Sierra is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized store environment, focusing on floor care and cleanliness standards. This role involves operating cleaning equipment, adhering to health and safety policies, and supporting various store functions as needed. The position emphasizes customer service and teamwork, contributing to a positive store culture.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and organized store environment with a focus on floor care.
• Operate the scrubber and buffer for floor maintenance.
• Perform dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot cleaning glass and windows.
• Adhere to operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards.
• Cross-train to work in multiple areas of the store to support business needs.
• Role model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
• Maintain cleanliness standards for the sales floor, associate lounge, backroom, and restrooms.
• Refill essential items in the lounge, restrooms, and front end as per health and safety policies.
• Support front end coverage needs as required.
• Participate in store recovery as needed throughout the day.
• Communicate accurately and effectively with management and associates.
• Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures, including meal and break period policies.
• Participate in safety awareness to maintain a safe environment.

Requirements

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to support business needs.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and operate floor buffer and scrubber.
• Capable of multi-tasking and responding to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to work effectively with peers and supervisors in a team environment.
• Retail customer experience preferred.
