About the position

The Retail Store Manager at Bob's Discount Furniture is a key executive responsible for creating and maintaining the company's culture while ensuring a world-class customer service experience. This role involves overseeing all operations of the store, maximizing sales, maintaining safety and security, and ensuring compliance with company policies. The manager is expected to lead by example, mentor staff, and engage with the community to uphold the company's reputation.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a visible floor presence, spending 60% of time on the sales floor.
  • Meet and/or exceed store sales goals as directed by the Company.
  • Maintain a visually appealing and safe facility.
  • Accurately manage inventory and ensure proper cash handling procedures are enforced.
  • Engage, encourage, mentor, and motivate direct and indirect reports.
  • Identify and determine professional development opportunities for staff.
  • Work with Senior Management to ensure adequate staffing to meet budgeted sales numbers.
  • Oversee employee discipline and relations issues in partnership with Human Resources, Operations, and Loss Prevention.
  • Establish a presence in the community as a champion of honesty, integrity, and good judgment.
