About the position

The Retail Store Manager at Sun Tan City is responsible for leading a team to create and maintain an exceptional client experience in the salon. This role involves overseeing daily operations, managing staff, ensuring client satisfaction, and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the salon. The manager will also be involved in hiring, training, and evaluating employees, as well as driving performance metrics and addressing client concerns.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and coaching employees to provide amazing client experiences.
  • Following up swiftly on client concerns and issues.
  • Consistently setting a positive example and demonstrating a calm demeanor during high volume periods.
  • Displaying a client-first attitude by holding team members accountable for quality client service.
  • Driving company metrics by developing action plans.
  • Motivating and instructing the salon team by implementing company programs.
  • Managing with integrity and honesty and promoting the culture, values, and mission of Sun Tan City.
  • Planning, identifying, communicating, and delegating responsibilities to team members to ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensuring cleanliness, maintenance, sanitation, and organization of the salon.
  • Managing salon staffing levels to ensure employee development and operational requirements are met.
  • Adhering to applicable wage and hour laws for non-exempt team members and minors.
  • Using operational tools to plan for and achieve operational excellence in the salon.
  • Utilizing financial reports to identify and address trends and issues in salon performance.
  • Conducting performance assessments, providing feedback, and setting challenging goals to improve sales performance.

Requirements

  • Management and/or sales experience required.
  • Basic computer skills (ability to use Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Ability to manage effectively in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple situations simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of client service techniques and operational practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational/planning skills.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to coach and mentor.
  • Team building skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate.
