About the position

The Retail Store Manager at San Antonio Shoemakers (SAS) is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the store, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining a positive work environment. This full-time position requires leadership skills to manage and motivate employees, uphold company standards, and drive sales performance. The manager will also be involved in hiring, training, and evaluating staff while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Execute day-to-day store operations according to SAS philosophy and standards.
  • Provide customer satisfaction in all areas of sales and service.
  • Direct and manage employees, promoting a positive team spirit.
  • Lead, coach, and direct employees to ensure optimal store performance.
  • Set expectations and communicate regularly with staff.
  • Conduct regular store meetings and evaluate employee performance.
  • Hold associates accountable for their duties and development.
  • Manage store operational and maintenance requirements.
  • Accountable for all inventories, finances, and other assets within the store.
  • Ensure compliance with purchasing policies and control expenditures.
  • Work with the District Manager to set goals and increase store volume.
  • Maintain and suggest adjustments to inventory levels.
  • Promote the store through Grass Roots marketing programs.
  • Interview and hire sales associates with assistance from DM and HR.

Requirements

  • Some college education is a plus.
  • 1-2 years' experience in retail management.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Organized and able to handle pressure of deadlines.
  • Skilled at identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work independently with timely follow-through.
  • Passion, integrity, and energy to achieve greatness for SAS and the team.
  • Self-starter with initiative and accountability.
  • Excellent attendance and team player qualities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in handling intricate employee relations.
