About the position

The Retail Store Manager at Sun Tan City is responsible for leading a team to create and maintain an exceptional client experience in the salon. This role involves managing the overall operations of the salon, including staffing, client satisfaction, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards. The manager will also be involved in coaching employees, handling client concerns, and driving company metrics through effective team management and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and coaching employees to provide amazing client experiences.
  • Following up swiftly on client concerns and issues.
  • Consistently setting a positive example and demonstrating a calm demeanor during high volume periods.
  • Holding team members accountable for quality client service with a client-first attitude.
  • Driving company metrics by developing action plans.
  • Motivating and instructing the salon team by implementing company programs.
  • Managing with integrity and promoting the culture, values, and mission of Sun Tan City.
  • Planning, identifying, communicating, and delegating responsibilities to team members for smooth operations.
  • Ensuring cleanliness, maintenance, sanitation, and organization of the salon.
  • Managing salon staffing levels to ensure employee development and operational requirements are met.
  • Adhering to applicable wage and hour laws for non-exempt team members and minors.
  • Using operational tools to achieve excellence in the salon, including labor guidelines and financial reports.
  • Conducting performance assessments and providing feedback to improve sales performance.

Requirements

  • Management and/or sales experience required.
  • Basic computer skills (ability to use Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Ability to manage effectively in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple situations simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of client service techniques and operational practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational/planning skills.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to coach and mentor.
  • Team building skills and the ability to prioritize and delegate.
