About the position

The Retail Store Manager at 5.11 Tactical is responsible for managing and growing the retail store, ensuring an exceptional brand experience, and leading the sales team to achieve store sales goals. This role involves financial accountability, customer relationship building, and operational management to optimize profitability and maintain high service standards.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes and oversees plans, budgets, and variable costs for the store.
  • Accurate recording of sales figures and performs cash operational functions.
  • Directs and models 5.11's Values, Mission, and Service standards providing an elevated customer experience.
  • Works closely with the merchandising team to coordinate updates and develop long-term strategies.
  • Leads and delegates merchandise processing, replenishment, and recovery of sales floor to brand standards.
  • Ensures team is trained in appropriate fitting techniques and executes fittings accurately.
  • Directs and models an efficient cash-wrap experience and ensures housekeeping duties are completed.
  • Establishes, monitors, and follows up on sales goals, sales plans, and sales budgets to optimize profit.
  • Executes reductions, price changes, and transfers, and manages delivery and unpacking of merchandise.
  • Follows and executes safety and security routines to prevent loss and ensure safety.
  • Creates an environment focused on customer service and builds customer relationships.
  • Attracts, recruits, hires, and trains high-caliber team members and service specialists.
  • Assesses team performance and provides feedback, ensuring a positive work environment.
  • Writes and flexes store labor schedule and manages store controllable expenses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree and/or 3-5 years of retail experience, preferably in apparel.
  • 2+ years of retail store management experience required.
  • Proven ability to provide a superior customer experience and drive customer loyalty.
  • Proven ability to assess talent and manage performance effectively.
  • Strong business acumen with strategic and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization.
  • Schedule flexibility to include evenings and weekends.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, and Outlook).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in tactical or outdoor retail environments.
  • Knowledge of POS systems and retail management software.
