About the position

The Retail Store Manager at Goodwill Industries of Central NC is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a retail store and donation center. This role involves managing store personnel, ensuring excellent customer service, and meeting the organization's cultural and fiscal objectives. The manager serves as a mentor to team members and plays a key role in promoting teamwork and a positive work environment while adhering to established operating procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct store personnel to meet cultural and fiscal objectives.
  • Provide excellent customer service and promote teamwork among staff.
  • Perform opening and closing duties as per schedule.
  • Manage cashiers, donation attendants, and other team members, performing their duties as needed.
  • Accurately count money and transport deposits to the bank.
  • Work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid NC driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Minimum of two years retail sales experience, preferably as a store manager.
  • Understanding of store layout, marketing, cash handling, and administrative duties.
  • Knowledge of retail practices, inventory control, and exceptional customer service skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in production environments.
  • Knowledge of trade practices, discounts, pricing methods, and inventory control.
