About the position

The Store Manager at Barber DME Supply Group is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the retail store, ensuring excellent customer service, and managing sales associates. This role requires a strong background in retail management, particularly in the durable medical equipment sector, and involves setting sales goals, training staff, and maintaining inventory control. The ideal candidate will be customer-focused, possess strong communication skills, and be able to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily store operations and manage sales associates.
  • Set sales goals and monitor performance against targets.
  • Provide excellent customer service and support to patients and customers.
  • Train and mentor staff on product knowledge and sales techniques.
  • Maintain inventory control and follow loss prevention processes.
  • Represent the store and Barber DME in a positive manner.
  • Advise customers on the use and care of merchandise.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of retail experience in durable medical equipment or related fields.
  • 1+ years of customer service experience.
  • 1+ years of proficiency with Point of Sale (POS) software.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Professional demeanor and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Valid driver's license compliant with state residency.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Fully proficient in English.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong business sense and industry expertise.
  • Excellent mentoring, coaching, and people management skills.
  • Bilingual (Spanish a plus).
  • Experience with BrightTree Software.
  • Knowledge of medical insurance and eligibility processes.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA & FWA practices and requirements.
  • Proficiency in DME/POS Software Systems.
