About the position

The Retail Store Manager at The UPS Store in Westbury, NY is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and managing store productivity. This role involves handling profit and loss, business development, and maintaining a positive work environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail management and customer service, with the ability to motivate a team and optimize performance.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, sort and place mail in mailboxes accurately.
  • Consistently greet customers in a friendly manner within 5 seconds; identify customer needs, and offer additional services which could benefit them.
  • Delivers outstanding customer service to walk-in customers and telephone inquiries through customer engagement and quality product delivery.
  • Answers phones courteously within 3 rings and provides accurate, detailed information.
  • Maintains the correct uniform and the image of the store.
  • Continuously practices good listening skills with customers, UPS Store team members, and leadership.
  • Takes ownership of the customer's shipping needs and offers viable solutions.
  • Takes action to learn all product and service offerings, alternative solutions, and industry trends.
  • Operates all equipment, software, and devices in an expert fashion and is willing to teach others.
  • Restocking shelves and overall maintenance of the store.
  • Packing according to the UPS store guidelines.
  • Taking out trash, cutting down cardboard boxes for recycling, and more on a daily basis.
  • Receive and prepare documents for printing and finishing.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned that is associated with the running of a store.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Suites.
  • Outstanding phone skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including spelling and math.
  • Prompt, reliable, and responsible.
  • Able to lift 50+ pounds.
  • Willing and able to work 40 hours per week for a 7-day work week.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1 year of store management experience (preferred).
  • Graphics design and production print experience is a plus.
