About the position

The Retail Store Tailor at Men's Wearhouse is responsible for providing exceptional alterations services to ensure customer satisfaction. This part-time position involves interacting with customers, marking and altering garments, and maintaining a clean and organized tailor shop. The role is integral to enhancing the shopping experience by ensuring that each garment fits well and meets the customer's expectations.

Responsibilities

• Provide positive input and valuable assistance throughout the customer experience.
• Assist in the selling process by greeting and responding to customers' special requests.
• Expertly mark, alter, and press garments selected by customers.
• Ensure the proper fit of garments for customers.
• Answer customer questions regarding alterations and services.
• Maintain an open dialogue with management regarding customer needs and shop operations.
• Help other team members as needed to ensure smooth operations.
• Keep the tailor shop clean and organized for efficient workflow.
• Properly size customers to ensure the best fit.
• Offer new wardrobe ensemble suggestions to customers.

Requirements

• Formal training for tailoring preferred.
• Experience as a tailor for menswear highly preferred.
• Good technical skill in tailoring and alterations.
• Sound knowledge of various types of sewing equipment.
• Strong communication skills to interact with customers and team members.
• Team attitude and enthusiasm for providing excellent service.
• Proficiency in all basic and advanced alterations of men's tailored clothing.
