About the position

As a Retail Supervisor at Sierra Trading Post, you will play a crucial role in leading the frontline team to ensure a highly-satisfied customer experience while driving customer loyalty. In this role, you will be expected to address customer concerns promptly, update associates on current customer experience feedback, and provide recognition and constructive feedback on cashier performance. You will maintain cash controls, oversee the cleanliness and organization of the frontline, and ensure compliance with all operational, merchandise, and loss prevention policies. Your ability to promote a safe environment and report any safety hazards will be essential in maintaining a secure shopping experience for customers and a supportive workplace for associates. The Retail Supervisor position requires flexibility, as you will be available to work evenings and weekends as needed. You will also be expected to lift heavy merchandise and handle confidential information with discretion. Your experience in retail or supervisory roles will be beneficial as you guide your team to achieve both individual and collective results, ultimately contributing to the success of Sierra Trading Post.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the frontline team to promote a highly-satisfied customer experience and drive customer loyalty.
  • Train and mentor associates on frontline execution of all register transactions.
  • Address customer concerns and issues promptly.
  • Update associates on current customer experience feedback, goals, and company initiatives.
  • Provide recognition and constructive feedback on cashier performance.
  • Maintain and monitor cash controls including change fund.
  • Adhere to all labor laws and meal and break period policies.
  • Assign registers and coordinate breaks to ensure optimized coverage at frontline and sales floor.
  • Audit and approve paperwork.
  • Maintain cleanliness, recovery, and organizational standards throughout the frontline.
  • Monitor all frontline equipment and communicate issues to management.
  • Execute and adhere to company directives and maintain merchandising standards.
  • Ensure proper and timely handling of damages and mark out of stock items.
  • Promote a safe environment by reporting any safety hazards in the store.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent degree preferred.
  • Experience in retail or supervisory roles preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and exceptional customer service skills.
  • Ability to work as a team member and train others.
  • Able to lift heavy merchandise with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Must be able to handle confidential information with discretion.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience as a coordinator in a retail environment.
  • Ability to run a register and handle money.
